Investing in
Burundi’s Future.
For more than a century, BCB has been an engaged partner in Burundi’s economic and social development. We place small and medium enterprises (PME) at the heart of our strategy, back young talent, and advance financial inclusion so that growth reaches every corner of the country.

What We Champion
Our Focus Areas
These pillars guide where we direct our energy, our financing, and our partnerships — each one chosen to move Burundi forward.
SME Empowerment & Entrepreneurship
We place small and medium enterprises (PME) at the heart of our strategy — easing access to finance so Burundian entrepreneurs can start, grow, and create lasting employment.
Youth Economic Empowerment
Through the Youth Economic Empowerment Programme (PAEEJ), we back young talent, encourage innovation, and help the next generation turn ideas into businesses.
Financial Inclusion & Digitalisation
With solutions like the IngodoYanje mobile wallet, we bring accessible, digital banking to individuals, merchants, and businesses across Burundi.
Skills & Capacity Building
From expert-led credit training to career-motivation sessions, our Kamenge Training Centre helps professionals and young people sharpen their skills.
Women & Inclusion
We celebrate and support the women across our teams and reinforce our commitment to inclusion in everything we do.
Made-in-Burundi Production
We support young Burundian producers with structured outlets and stronger routes to market, helping Made-in-Burundi goods reach more customers.
